Panzea: What's new and upcoming

What's new?

Release 20   (Nov 4, 2009)
  • A new Marker Search has replaced our previous Gene/Locus and Molecular Diversity searches
  • The new Marker Search displays maize AGPv1 physical coordinates and includes nearly 1.4 million SNPs from the Maize HapMap project (HapMap_SNPs)
  • A new Introgression Search can be used to find NILs with teosinte introgressions (introgressions from NILs dervived from the NAM parents backcrossed to B73 will be added in the future)
  • More than one million First Generation Maize HapMap SNPs are available for download from our Data Sets page
  • NAM flowering time data from our recent Science paper are available on our Data Sets page
  • You can now BLAST against the AGPv1 maize genome via our BLAST search page and link to Panzea Markers in the vicinity (including HapMap SNPs) from the BLAST results summary
  • The Polymorphism Search has been restricted to inbred lines and provides AGPv1 coordinates (but, sadly, does not include the HapMap SNPs)
Release 19   (Jun 9, 2008)
  • Panzea is now hosted at Cornell University (formerly hosted by Cold Spring Harbor Lab)
  • Our project has been renewed by the NSF under the new title 'Genetic Architecture of Maize and Teosinte' (NSF 0820619) (view proposal)
  • Phenotype Search: granularity issue resolved with respect to display of teosinte phenotypes: plant identity info is now provided in addition to accession (allows phenotypes to be tied to teosinte genotypes obtained via molecular diversity search results)
  • Data Sets page: download of 33 bp SNP context sequences from alignment of Mo17 454 to B73 MAGI sequences updated: now contains 126,683 SNPs
  • New data:
    • no new data in this release (new release expected by the end of July 2009)
